Deep Thought of Today...

A snow flake.
Soft and white, and light as air.
Life is like a snow flake. You never know where it's going to fall. You just hope it falls in the right place, and hope someone thinks your pretty along the way.

Berry Chai....

Ok, here's something warm to try on these cold days ahead.

It's the Starbucks Berry Chai Infusion. Combines Chai Tea concentrate with a proprietary blend of aronia berry (tart berry similar to cranberry) and black currant (dark colored berry with a sharp, sweet taste) juice. [www.starbucks.com]

This new Tazo Tea has somewhat of a bite to it. When you taste to hot, berry-red liquid you get the taste of a bitter tart cranberry taste. It reminds you of holiday wassail with berries instead of spiced apple cider. It has a great taste to warm you right up.

Could you really ‘Bee’ free of allergies?

So some of you may have heard of eating honey can help with your allergies. Is this true or fiction? Well, I’ve been putting it to the test for the last two months. After moving to the Cincinnati area, I started to develop really bad allergies. I mean, I know I have allergies, but come on not like this. Everyone I talk to who moves here saying the same thing. That they develop allergies that they never had before or their allergies get worst. They say it’s the valley. Whatever! I knew I needed to put a stop to this, or at least slow it down somehow.

So my husband told me about getting some local honey and trying it. Huh? What? HONEY! Well, it’s said that honey contains bits and pieces of pollen, which is part of the issue with allergies. So by eating honey, it should help your immune system build up against these allergies. But the key to this is….it needs to be LOCAL honey. Now, in my quest for helping my poor nose and eyes, I went to a few local places to buy honey. I got one from a Kentucky farmer’s market and one Ohio honey from Whole Foods. Now the thing is with this honey, it needs to be organic, or raw, because if not most of the pollen that you need is taken out. And that’s not going to help you.

So I’ve been eating honey for the past two months on everything, but mostly drinking it in my hot tea. And for the most part, I think its’ working. Well, my allergies aren’t gone per say, but they have lessened a bit. And I’m happy with that. So next time you sneeze and think – “oh god, my poor allergies, as an ocean runs from your eyes,” pick up some honey and give it a try. You never know that little honey bee may just help you, besides the flowers.

Special Note: Some people may not be able to eat this type of honey, so ask your doctor just to be sure.

This is How it Feels....

You know when a song gets stuck in your head, and no matter what you can't get it out of your head no matter what. This is why I bought this CD. But it turned out that the CD is really quite good! I'm talking about The Veronicas new CD called Hook Me Up. The music has a great beat. You just feel like dancing in the car as you hear it. YAY!! New running music!!!

I'm not sure how other people choose their running music, but I always need a beat. A beat you feel as you run. To me you need to feel it as your feet hit the pavement one by one. It's more for keeping pace. Not really to the song, but to the beat in your head that the music creates.

So I'll keep singing in my head....
"I feel so untouched. And I want you so much. that I just can't resist you. It's not enough to say that I miss you...." - The Veronicas - Untouched

Caffe Moka - recipe

1/2 cup Milk
4 teaspoons Chocolate syrup
6 tablespoons freshly brewed espresso
2 tablespoons softly whipped cream
Cocoa power for garnish

If you have an espresso machine with a streamer attachment, steam the milk following the manufacturer's directions. Otherwise, you can simply heat the milk in a saucepan over high heat until scalded.
Spoon 2 teaspoons of the syrup into each, top with some steamed milk. If you like, a dollop of whipped cream. Lightly dust with cocoa powder if you wish.

Running on mocha....

I think everyone likes a little mocha once in a while. Just the taste of the coffee-like-chocolate melts in your mouth. But we all have to run sometimes from it.

My plan for this blog is to review things that are experienced or viewed in the world of coffee, running, fashion, Tech. or whatever else comes along the way. So hold on to your mugs girls, the coffee is hitting us soon on this run.
